Yesterday I helped Paul and Kellie shut down their farm for the season. We cut out the tops of all the asparagus so that beetles wouldn't find a spot to spend the winter and lay their eggs. Then, we sprayed some manure over the rows.
We also pulled out all the old tomato plants and rolled up the hoses before it freezes hard. And, finally, we cleaned up carrot seeds.
It was a lot of hard work, especially under the rain, but it was nice to help the neighbors and we got some good produce in exchange!
