Deer Hides

I still have a handful of deer hides wet salted from last year. I just looked at them and they're a little dry but ok. I pulled two out of the barrel, rinsed them, and then fleshed them. I put them in water to soak but it's cold so it might take a while before they're ready. I'm just hoping I can get to them and the rest before it gets too cold; it would be nice to get the storage space back.

I don't think I'll get more hides from hunters this season, as I also have quite a few that I scraped last year and still need to be softened. Hopefully I can do a lot of softening at Sunny Pine Farm this winter.
