A movie and a story

I just saw the movie Samsara the other night and it was powerful enough of a movie to mention here. It's in a similar vein as Koyaanisqatsi but with more incredible footage and with a better storyline (though the storyline will probably not be immediately evident to most people). It starts with the birth of the world (volcanoes), takes us through some of the most incredible landscapes on Earth, features tribal people, and then the complete and aberrant insanity of modern society, before ending, well, at the logical end. The musical score is pretty nice and not a single word is spoken throughout the movie. I highly recommend it.

Watching Samsara also helped me crystalize a short story that had been in my mind for quite some time now so I sat down the next morning and wrote it in one sitting. You can read it here if you're interested: https://sites.google.com/site/sustainablelivingproject/stories/to-feed-or-not-to-feed
The story explores why powerful destructive forces have endured and some possible insights into how to let them self-destruct.

I hope you find both of these things interesting and inspiring.
